Hello SMMUSD Voters!
Thank you for visiting my page. Below, you will learn a little more about me; my background, work experience, and passion.

About Stacy
I've called Malibu home for more than two decades. My two children went through the Malibu Pathway from kindergarten through graduation at Webster Elementary, Malibu Middle School, and Malibu High School. I'm a public school graduate, and I'm proud my kids are too. I believe a high-quality, free public education is one of the most powerful ways to expand opportunity for every family.
My involvement in our schools started in the classroom as a parent volunteer. It grew into PTA leadership, district advisory committees, and six years as president of the Malibu Schools Leadership Council. That council brought together school leaders, PTAs, the Boys & Girls Club, and parent groups to solve problems together and keep an open line of communication between Malibu and the district. In 2022, I was elected to the SMMUSD Board of Education, where I'm currently the board's only Malibu resident.
Over 13 years of service, our community has been through a lot: three major fires, a pandemic, leadership changes, and tension between our two cities. Through it all, I found my footing by listening and working to make sure people's needs were clearly heard and understood.
That's also what led me to my profession. Working with our district, I kept seeing people who cared deeply but struggled to hear and understand one another. So after 20 years away from school, I earned a Master's in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute at Pepperdine while working full time. I also hold a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in public service. Professionally, I managed a Jumpstart early literacy program serving preschool classrooms across Los Angeles, served as director of operations for a consulting firm, and now serve as an assistant ombuds at the University of Southern California.
I'm running for re-election to keep bringing people together, to be a strong voice for Malibu as we move toward separate Santa Monica and Malibu districts, and to serve every student in both communities.
